Indian head massage, also known as a Champissage, is an ancient healing practice that originated more than 1000 years ago, and is a part of the Indian practice of Ayurveda. As with all other practices and healing techniques that make up Ayurveda, Indian head massage too, is based on promoting the well-being of all aspects of human life (physical, emotional and spiritual) and uses natural and holistic techniques to remedy the ailments of the human condition.
The Indian Head Massage Diploma course arms its students with an in-depth knowledge of the varied aspects that make up Indian Head Massage, delving further onto the subject, rather than merely demonstrating its techniques. Students are taken from beginners to having a comprehensive understanding of the topic; making this course viable for massage and other holistic practitioners who wish to offer their clients additional treatments, but also for people with an interest in the subject, who wish to aid the well-being of friends and family with this holistic approach to health.
The Indian Head Massage Diploma course starts by giving a solid foundation of knowledge from which to learn from. Many holistic treatments have been used for many years, so the course outlines a brief history of where the practice of Champissage originated and how and why it has survived alongside modern day medicine.
As Indian Head Massage involves stimulating areas of the head, neck ,shoulders, and face, it is important for practitioners to have an understanding of these areas of the anatomy before any massage techniques can be applied to them, and so this area is covered in the course materials.

The physical side of the massage, this part of the course talks you through the various techniques that can be employed and how each of them benefits the client, as well as the spiritual side of Indian Head Massage. This part of the course culminates in how to perform a basic Indian Head Massage using the newly-learned techniques.
